Deerwood Place Estates in Nanaimo - a wonderful place to call home

Deerwood Place Estates is a manufactured home park in Nanaimo that caters to the 55+ age group.  It is a gated community located just off Jinglepot Road and very handy to the parkway.

I had heard of Deerwood Place Estates but had never visited until a couple of months ago.  I was working with some buyers who were looking for a patio home in a 55+ community.  We decided to go and have a look at Deerwood Estates.  I have to say that we were most impressed.

The manufactured homes at Deerwood all look like pretty ranchers.  They range in size up to approximately 1500 sq. feet.   The wonderful part is that all the homes have a small garden area and most of the yards seem to be very private.  I was impressed by the fact that each house had a yard to do with as the owner wished.  Some have gardens others have low maintenance landscaping.

There is a lovely clubhouse and garden area for owners to use. The clubhouse has recreational and social amenities like darts, billiards, horseshoes, putting green, barbecue and picnic area, games room, party room, dance floor, meeting space and a guest suite.

The prices range from the low $200's to around $350.  The price includes the purchase price for the home.  The land is leased and there is a monthly lease cost.  The lease includes the use of the clubhouse and all its facilities, along with the secured gated entrances, street cleaning, street snow removal, street lighting and maintenance of all common grounds. The taxes on the land are included in the lease.
