How To Paint Your House Without Painting Your Self

Summer is the most popular time to do house painting in Nanaimo.

While house painting can be a fun project for the entire family to enjoy you'll want to be sure that it's the house that gets painted and not the kids!

Here are a few steps you can take to make your summertime house painting project in Nanaimo extra enjoyable:

225 x 225First, measure the area that you'll be painting to be sure you buy enough paint for your project in a single trip.  There's nothing worse then having to run back to the store in the middle of your painting work - with brushes drying and the light changing - because you've run out of paint.

Secondly, consider opting for colours that are in vogue.  You'll be amazed at how a fresh coat of stylish paint can brighten up your home, and make an old house look new again.

Next, don't scrimp on quality.  Be sure you're comparing apples-to-apples when you compare the price per container of paint.  After all, what's the point in buying paint that's a few dollars cheaper if you have to put on twice as many coats of paint with a less expensive brand?

Lastly, here some things that you can do to keep you painting project clean and under control:

1.  Use area drop clothes in the area you're painting.  It's not necessary to cover the whole floor with clothes.  Instead, use a smaller drop cloth and move it as you paint a new area.  This way you're less liable to step in a paint drip.

2.  Purchase a bunch of inexpensive thing rubber gloves to keep drips off of your hands and finger nails.

3.  Paint one small area at a time.  By doing this you'll be less likely to have to go back over spots that you've missed.  Don't forget to look for areas where you've put too much paint - these can easily be brushed over before the paint dries.
